摘要

In the eighteenth century, the methods for astronomical determination of lunar transits were improved. At the cost of complex calculations, an accuracy of about one degree was achieved. In the XIX century marine clocks revolutionized geolocation by enabling sailors to determine longitude accurately using precise time measurements. Everything changed with the discovery of electromagnetic waves and the possibility of wireless signal transmission in the beginning of the XX century. And finally, close to the turn of our century, satellite-based geolocation became reality.
