In my childhood, if I ventured to tell a story, even before I started speaking, the family admonition was immediately heard: don't start with Pontius Pilate! I still remember this often heard warning to this day. Although, if we want to be honest, and we would roll Pontius Pilate's historical act like a film in front of our mind's eye, it would immediately become apparent that a story related to water management can indeed start with Pontius Pilate.
