Conclusion
摘要
The objective of this volume has been fulfilled by demonstrating that maps and associated graphics are important documents and could potentially be deemed as legal instruments. Maps are of fundamental value to a nation’s developmental aims and a valuable source in enhancing a nation’s blue economy. The themes of the seven chapter are collectively summarized in this Chapter. The importance and role of charts, maps and other graphics is highlighted especially in the context of Malaysia's maritime jurisdictional limits. The latter part of Chapter 8 features three graphics that portray the density of marine traffic within Malaysia's maritime jurisdiction to emphasize the complexity of managing maritime space in geographical constrictions. The reader's attention is directed to the density of traffic within the Straits of Malacca and Singapore. Malaysia has demonstrated its desire to negotiate its maritime boundaries with its neighbors, and in areas where a territorial dispute existed, Malaysia's Governments (past and present) have defined cooperative zones for development of marine biotic and mineral resources.
