Research Methodology from a Pedagogical Worldview
摘要
This chapter describes the main decisions and characteristics of the research methodology made by the researchers to generate theoretical knowledge concerning the benefits of the social-sports meetings addressed to refugees and asylum seekers. The chapter will be structured in two parts. In the first part, the authors will explain the study’s objectives and the worldview that will lead the epistemological approach of the study and justify choosing a mixed method consisting of an exploratory sequential design. The second part will develop the main settings of the research method selected to gather and analyse the data throughout the project. Thus, this part of the chapter will pay attention to explaining the features of the participants in this project (refugees, students and educators) and how they became active members of this research as informants, the techniques used to obtain valuable information from the participants about their experiences participating in the social-sport encounters and, finally, emphasis will be placed on the data analysis procedure and the evidence collected throughout the implementation of the project and the activities discussed.
