High-Tech Intraoperative Guided Biopsy and Robotic Bronchoscopy Biopsy Versus Wedge Resection for a Suspicious Peripheral Nodule

Robotic bronchoscopy is a relatively new technology that potentially allows higher diagnostic yield with a lower complication rate that should balance higher costs. High-tech technologies and minimally invasive wedge resection could be considered alternatives with reduced costs but higher complication rates. Further prospective studies are needed to achieve the more detailed cost analysis necessary to better understand the impact of new technologies and to standardize their use.
