Exercise Prehabilitation and Lung Resection
摘要
Patients undergoing lung resection are often older adults at risk for frailty. Frailty is an age-associated syndrome that has negative impact on postoperative outcomes including functional status, complications, and patient-reported outcomes. Prehabilitation programs have been suggested as an intervention to mitigate the deleterious effects of frailty. There is strong evidence that exercise-based prehabilitation improves exercise capacity for patients undergoing lung resection. However, many questions about the types, delivery, and efficacy of prehabilitation remain.
