Competition extends beyond individual entities into dynamic, self-evolving, digital business ecosystems, aimed at accelerating innovation, enhancing user experiences, and maintaining lifetime customers. This paper relies on an ecosystem-based theory to enhance our understanding of contemporary management issues. This paper explores the concept of digital business ecosystem, as well as the concept Ecosystem Micro Community (EMC), a specific case of digital business ecosystem developed by the Haier Group. Our research reveals 11 attributes commonly discussed in digital business ecosystem literature, as well as how these attributes fit the EMC model. The paper also indicates that Haier’s digital business ecosystem approach supports the company to better adapt to digital changes, spur innovation, enhance customer satisfaction, and sustain growth. Data and artificial intelligence (AI) are used to forge robust networks with partners and customers, fostering a cycle of mutual value creation and sharing. This study aims to expand our knowledge on digital business ecosystems and key attributes, as well as on Haier’s EMC concept and it’s fit with key attributes, as well as how it offers competitive advantages in the ecosystem economy. The main limitation of this study is its reliance on secondary data, which restricts deeper insights into the concept of digital business ecosystem.

摘要
