Sustainability is a challenging topic in the healthcare sector. The academic debate focuses on the spread of sustainability in healthcare through the education and the training of employees, making crucial the development of a culture of sustainability. This paper explores the current body of literature about the culture of sustainability within healthcare organizations. The authors conducted a scoping literature review based on the York methodology to achieve this goal. The authors searched online using selected keywords on Scopus and Google Scholar. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were identified to restrict the articles’ sample. A bibliometric analysis was conducted to give an overview of the field. The findings highlight a link between culture and sustainability in healthcare. The research aims to achieve three main goals: (1) provide an overview of the connection between culture and sustainability in healthcare, (2) explore how culture and sustainability are examined in existing literature on the topic, and (3) offer valuable insights to guide future empirical research on developing a culture of sustainability in healthcare.
