Recycling plays a crucial role in various aspects of society, from individual well-being to economic sustainability, as evidenced by governing regulations. In Saudi Arabia, recycling efforts primarily target business sectors, leaving a significant gap in household waste management. Building upon prior research, this paper proposes a novel approach to address this gap by developing a mobile application using design science research methodology. The application facilitates household engagement in recycling by establishing a social economy platform for the collection and delivery of recyclable materials. Validation of this approach includes user experience evaluation, revealing high rates of perceived usefulness, ease of use, and fulfillment of user requirements.
