An Educational Digital Memory Game for Learning Sign Language in an Interdisciplinarity Context
摘要
It presents a prototype of an educational 2D multi-platform digital game in the format of a memory game, highly visual, which encourages the learning of the alphabet and number signs in Portuguese and Brazilian Sign Language to elementary school children in interdisciplinary and inclusive scenarios. Through entertainment and challenge promoted during the gameplay, our solution embraces linguistic, pedagogical, biological, and psychological dimensions of the learning process of oral and sign languages, besides promoting interdisciplinarity as an accessible, low-cost, and easily replicable pedagogical tool that stimulates cognitive processes and adapts knowledge acquisition. After its construction was completed, it was observed that the game has the potential to serve as a tool that promotes the inclusion of deaf individuals in educational contexts in the early years of elementary school.
