Responding to the COVID-19 restrictions or keeping up with the times, the higher education institutions (HEIs) undergo (or going to) the digital transformation with varying degrees of success. In general, digital transformation in the context of HEIs affects many areas of educational process from course content and modes of content delivery to management of people and organizations utilizing various information and communication technology (ICT)-based tools and applications. One example of such an instrument is currIQunet platform aimed to manage the development, review, and approval processes of the academic courses and programs. While there are debates on whether the transition to a web-based management system organizes and simplifies the processes or in contrast stifles innovation due to bureaucratic processes and time-consuming documentation requirements, the underlying question is whether the institutions understand the essence of this transition, such as the difference between converting the analog documents and data into digital format and turning the analog processes into digital ones. With this caveat, this study seeks to explore and draw a line between the digitization and digitalization of the operational and managerial processes in HEIs. This study employed a survey approach to assess faculty understanding with digital platforms like currIQunet, focusing on their perceptions of the transition from traditional to digital processes in higher education. The survey targeted faculty at a university ranked in the top 30% of international research universities, gathering data on the distinction between digitization and digitalization and its impact on academic processes.

摘要
