摘要

One of the main objectives of the Conference of the Parties (COP) 26 was to “work together to deliver” and accelerate action to tackle the climate crisis (Wang et al., 2022). In response to this need, there has been an increasing pressure across the board to embed sustainability within the curriculum, as well as opening opportunities for students to participate in co-curricular activities and engage with external stakeholders to experience more practically Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) (Department for Education, 2021). However, engaging external stakeholders to offer hands-on projects, also gives them an opportunity to learn new lessons and encourages innovation. The stories reported here are testimony of the impact of these projects on students’ learning experience and sustainability skills and offer further reflections on additional positive spill-over effects on project participants in terms of their career paths and personal development. The same (and further) case studies will be considered in the following chapter, where the focus will be on external stakeholders and their experience of working with HE providers on real-life challenges.
