We must update our legal systems to keep pace with technological progress and ensure the rule of law. For this purpose, this chapter introduces the idea of utilising digital twin technology. This technology’s unique features could help us bring our rigid legal systems back to life and provide better access to justice. It allows us to learn from the past, manage the present, and design the future. We can ensure human agency by embracing society and law as complex adaptive systems. The chapter builds on the authors’ previous work on the architecture of law as a neural network, digital twins of law and the convergence of reality in the Metaverse.
