Africa and the Russian-Ukrainian War and Its Impact on Africa
摘要
Although the Russian-Ukrainian conflict has been going on with varying degrees of intensity since 2013, it has not had a significant impact on the international community. However, this changed in the summer of 2022 when open war broke out between the opposing sides. The conflict, which started as a regional one, quickly became an international one, and the members of the international community were also forced to take a stand. Although African and Middle Eastern countries are not directly involved in the conflict, it affects them in several ways. In my research, I will briefly present the ongoing conflict, its causes and the parties interested in it. After that, I will describe how the opposing parties were/are in relation to the African countries and how these countries reacted to the outbreak of the war. After that, I introduce the impact of the “Europeans war” on the African countries, how it affects them, and what challenges and opportunities it presents. I deal separately with the political, diplomatic, economic (especially with food, fertilizer and fuel insecurity) and security effects of the conflict, and the African reactions to it.
