We have just looked at the role of informal ethical discourse and the touchstone questions in responding to discrepant experiences (Chapter 8 ). In this chapter we look at the role of informal ethical discourse and a parallel set of concrete clinical questions in determining the course of prospective action. In such situations we need to identify our intentions, existing clinical goals, the risks and benefits of the available options, and potential paths for going forward. We look at how this process works out regarding treatment plans, program design, application of policy, and conflict resolution.

摘要

We have just looked at the role of informal ethical discourse and the touchstone questions in responding to discrepant experiences (Chapter 8 ). In this chapter we look at the role of informal ethical discourse and a parallel set of concrete clinical questions in determining the course of prospective action. In such situations we need to identify our intentions, existing clinical goals, the risks and benefits of the available options, and potential paths for going forward. We look at how this process works out regarding treatment plans, program design, application of policy, and conflict resolution.
