This article explores the theoretical potential of quantum computing to address complex mathematical problems in the financial sector. Through a comprehensive theoretical analysis, leveraging insights from recent advancements and collaborative efforts, we investigate the transformative impact of quantum computing on key areas such as portfolio optimization, option pricing, risk management, and algorithmic trading strategies. Additionally, we discuss the implications of quantum computing for financial cybersecurity, highlighting the development of quantum-resistant cryptographic protocols. By synthesizing findings from nearly 40 scientific articles, industry reports, and case studies, we provide also a roadmap for integrating quantum technologies into financial practices, thereby enhancing decision-making processes and improving overall efficiency.
