Appearing, regressing of these arteries (trigeminal, otic, hypoglossal, proatlantal, mandibular, hyoid, primary maxillary), their sometimes persistence in the adult, as well as their role as possible collateral way, as well as their involvement in pathological condition are described. A particular attention is dedicated to the primary maxillary artery from which derive the ILT and MHT.
