The Mediator’s Posture

The concrete conditions required for a mediation mission are as follows: neutrality and equidistance of the mediator, creation of trust with the interlocutors present and between the mediator and each of the interlocutors present, contextual analysis of the conflict opposing them, independence of the mediator, search for possible solutions at another level of reality, return to the responsibility of the interlocutors while respecting their freedom, and self-effacement of the mediator. Variety of modalities of mediation circumstances and the need for a transdisciplinary approach.
