Additive and Formative Manufacturing of Hybrid Parts with Locally Adapted, Tailored Properties
摘要
Hybrid parts offer a suitable solution for coping with the increasing demands of mass customization and open up new fields in industry. The combination of forming and additive manufacturing (AM) processes confer the benefits of both disciplines while simultaneously overcoming their drawbacks. However, with the combination of the processes, interactions emerge that have to be considered. In detail, additively manufactured structures deteriorate the formability of the sheets during the forming operation due to stress concentrations and resulting necking. Consequently, these interactions will be addressed in the following chapter to fully exploit the potential of hybrid components.
