Middle Rectal Artery
摘要
The middle rectal artery is a muscular, small diameter vessel. It is a branch of the anterior division of the internal iliac artery. It supplies the inferior rectum and urogenital structures. It has high variability in laterality, origin, and course. It has clinical significance when discussing rectal bleeding, hemorrhoids, rectal cancer, radical hysterectomy, uterine transplant, and the surgical treatment of diverticulitis and intestinal ischemia.
