The Impact of IT Ethics and Artificial Intelligence in e-Courses

The increasing prevalence of information and communication technology, along with the growing digitalization of social life, has heightened the significance of IT ethics. Ethics is an issue that attracts a lot of attention, especially after artificial intelligence applications. In this study, university students received the IT ethics course both synchronously and asynchronously. IT ethics attitude levels were measured before and after the e-course application. In addition, the effects of artificial intelligence on informatics ethics have also been researched and reflected in the results. Quantitative methods were used in the research. A total of 62 students participated in the research. It was found that students who attended the course asynchronously had higher attitudes towards IT ethics. Students currently attach importance to IT ethics. However, with the increasing use of artificial intelligence applications, teachers and students should be informed in order to avoid committing IT ethics violations and for their beneficial use.
