Artificial intelligence (AI) is an innovative set of technologies applicable in a wide range of areas across the board that include finance, transportation, healthcare, IoT, and education. AI has been through many ups and downs but is monotonically growing with the ever-increasing computing power, storage, infrastructure software, applications, automation, and services. In this chapter, we cover various AI classifications and the history and evolution of AI in detail. We will examine the AI and AI Edge computing environments and AI and Edge AI analytics, including their key components and applications. Finally, future trends, emerging applications, and their limitations and challenges of AI and Edge AI will be reviewed.
