Thoracic Trauma
摘要
Thoracic trauma confers significant morbidity and mortality. Many patients may be managed with tube thoracostomy. However, life-threatening conditions, which include hemorrhage and tracheobronchial injury, require keen knowledge of anatomy and prompt intervention. Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) allows for a systematic approach to assess trauma patients and diagnose injuries. Life-threatening pathologies include: • Tension pneumothorax • Massive hemothorax • Cardiac Tamponade • Great vessel injury
