Rib Fractures
摘要
Rib fractures are one of the most common pathologies seen in trauma. They can be a result of both blunt or penetrating trauma and chances of rib fractures increase when there is underlying pathology (i.e. metastasis to the bone, osteoporosis, etc.). Rib fractures can result in pain, poor respiratory effort, hemorrhage, pulmonary contusions, pneumothoraxes, and in the worst-case scenarios, flail chest.
