Acute compartment syndrome of the extremity is characterized by increased compartment pressures compromising tissue perfusion. The most frequent etiologies are long bone fracture, vascular injury, revascularization following prolonged ischemia, crush injury, and burns. Prompt diagnosis and management are essential to mitigate muscle necrosis and rhabdomyolysis.
