• Inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) is a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer.  • This is a clinical diagnosis: requires skin erythema and edema (peau d’orange) involving at least a third of the skin of the breast.  • By definition, the primary tumor is classified as T4d in a TNM system.  • The characteristic clinical feature of IBC is due to dermal lymphatics blockage by tumor emboli. A punch biopsy of the involved skin sometimes reveals the dermal lymphatic involvement.
