Intraoperative Complications: Hemorrhage

Intraoperative complications span a wide range of topics that include hemorrhage, injury of an organ, thromboembolism, anastomotic leaks, pneumothoraces, and anesthesia-related complications such as malignant hyperthermia. Intraoperative hemorrhage is among the most serious complications that require prompt recognition, preparedness, and impeccable communication with anesthesia and potential consultants in order to decrease morbidity and mortality.
