Zika Virus
摘要
Zika virus (ZIKV), primarily transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, typically results in mild infections; however, it can cause severe fetal defects such as microcephaly in pregnant women. Symptoms include fever, arthralgia, myalgia, rash, and conjunctivitis, but many infections remain asymptomatic. Diagnosis is made based on clinical symptoms, exposure risk, and confirmed through real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) and antibody detection. No specific therapy exists for Zika virus; supportive measures are recommended. Preventative strategies include reducing mosquito exposure, implementing protective measures for travelers, and recommending temporary abstinence from pregnancy and safe sex after infection. Breastfeeding is advised, despite the potential risk for viral transmission.
