Scabies
摘要
Scabies, also referred to as mange, is an infestation caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei hominis. Transmission occurs primarily through physical and sexual contact. Female mites burrow into the dermis to lay eggs, resulting in severe pruritus, particularly at night and in predilection sites such as the interdigital spaces. Diagnosis is established based on characteristic cutaneous manifestations and the identification of mites, their eggs, or feces, typically via visual or microscopic examination. First-line treatment employs topical antiscabiosa such as permethrin, with ivermectin as a systemic alternative. Prevention strategies focus on minimizing close contact with infested individuals, emphasizing hygiene practices and the treatment of contacts to impede further spread. While scabies is prevalent globally, it remains relatively uncommon in developed countries.
