Sexually transmitted diseases (STD) are of significant epidemiological and clinical importance. The predominant mode of transmission for these diseases is unprotected sexual intercourse, which can have complex and severe health effects. In addition to heightening the risk of other STDs, such as Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), they may lead to serious complications, including infections of the genital tract and pregnancy-related issues. The most prevalent STDs include chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and trichomoniasis. According to estimates by the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately one million new cases of STDs are reported daily, with approximately 376 million new cases documented in 2016. It is critical that effective prevention measures are implemented, regular testing is ensured, and early diagnosis and treatment are facilitated to combat the spread of STDs.
