Based on low-cost, short-range, and easy deployed sensors, wireless sensor networks (WSNs) may provide innovative and intended applications. Via sensing, collecting, and transmitting data through secure links to backend databases, we can further process and analyze the information of a specific monitoring environment. To ensure security and privacy during data aggregation in WSN, key pre-distribution (KP) is often used to establish secure links between neighbor nodes in WSN. To enhance the resiliency of node capture attack (NA), in which attackers capture sensor nodes to collect keys for intercepting secure links among other uncompromised sensor nodes, hash chain–based KP (HKP) schemes have been proposed. These HKP schemes may effectively resist NA, but they cannot tackle the so-called advanced node capture attacks (ANA). Recently, the diagonal layer–based HKP (DHKP) and bidirectional HKP (BHKP) are accordingly proposed to resist ANA. In this chapter, we use multi-hash chain technique to propose a multi-hash KP (MHKP) to further strengthen resiliency against ANA and meantime provide the adaptive resiliency on NA and ANA.

摘要
