In this chapter, the Demand Clustering and Spectrum Allocation problem in a point-to-multipoint (P2MP) network with time-varying traffic is studied. This chapter introduces two genetic algorithms that can be applied to traffic aggregation for P2MP optical network architectures employing digital subcarrier multiplexing. Based on the transmitter constraint, the proposed GAs assign individual subcarriers (SCs) to receiving nodes with uncorrelated traffic profiles. The simulation results show that the proposed GAs outperform the heuristic methods.

摘要

In this chapter, the Demand Clustering and Spectrum Allocation problem in a point-to-multipoint (P2MP) network with time-varying traffic is studied. This chapter introduces two genetic algorithms that can be applied to traffic aggregation for P2MP optical network architectures employing digital subcarrier multiplexing. Based on the transmitter constraint, the proposed GAs assign individual subcarriers (SCs) to receiving nodes with uncorrelated traffic profiles. The simulation results show that the proposed GAs outperform the heuristic methods.
