Cross-Chain Personal Data Exchange on EVM Platforms: Enhancing Transparency, and Equity

The pervasive distribution of personal data across digital platforms has magnified issues related to privacy, security, and equitable value distribution, necessitating robust management frameworks. Traditional centralized data management systems often compromise individual privacy and control, favoring large corporations. Blockchain technology, recognized for its decentralization, immutability, and transparency, introduces a significant shift towards more secure and user-empowering data management practices. This paper proposes a blockchain-based model for personal data exchange, utilizing Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible platforms to implement cross-chain functionality that enhances transparency and equity in data transactions. By employing smart contracts and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), the system allows users to maintain control over their data and ensures fair compensation. The platform is evaluated across multiple EVM-supported environments, including Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, Fantom, and Celo, to assess operational efficiencies and economic viability. The findings suggest that blockchain integration offers a scalable and flexible approach, setting a new standard for personal data transactions in the digital economy.
