Understanding the untapped potential value of the waste orange rindis crucial, as it should not be disposed of directly, which could lead to environmental threat and ecosystem disturbance. The valorization of citrus food waste, particularly orange peel, presents a significant opportunity for sustainable waste management and resource recovery as well as an opportunity to valorise the by-product of the food industry. . This chapter explores innovative strategies for the management and utilization of orange peel, a by-product of the citrus industry that often ends up in landfills, contributing to environmental polllution. The research reviews the various methods of valorization, including biochemical processes, extraction of essential oils, and conversion into value-added products such as natural preservatives, biofuels, and bio-composites. this paper highlights the effect of different treatments on the physicochemical composition and function properties. the findings underscore the importance of integrating citrus peel valorization into waste management frameworks to promote sustainability, reduce waste, and create new opportunities.
