The chikungunya Virus
摘要
Panel 57. Chikungunya virus is an arbovirus whose morphology is reminiscent of the arboviruses in the Flavivirus family (West Nile, Dengue, Zika, see panels 52 to 55), but it belongs to another family, the Togaviruses (which also includes the Rubella virus, despite its very different appearance; see panel 43). It has many other similarities with dengue, apart from its morphology: it is transmitted by the mosquitoes Aedes aegypti and albopictus, from human to human, and it induces fevers, headaches and muscle and joint pains.
