Dynamic and Autonomous Curbside Management—Design Research in Virtual Reality for Future Adaptive Street Spaces
摘要
The concept of Dynamic and Autonomous Curbside Management represents a significant departure from traditional approaches, integrating autonomous technologies into adaptive urban street spaces. In contrast to the static nature of conventional urban environments, this approach considers how an intelligent street space, comprising autonomous modules, can adapt to meet the evolving needs of stakeholders in real-time. Digital twins in virtual reality are crucial for expediting the evaluation of multiple design prototypes, offering real-time insights into the practicality of proof-of-concepts. The testing of scenarios in virtual reality allows for the instant analysis of eye-tracking data and task completion, providing immediate insights into the acceptability of dynamically moving platforms and objects in the intelligent and adapting street of the future.
