Impact of Open Innovation on Sustainability of Islamic Banks in Jordan

This study aims to explore the impact of open innovation practices on the sustainable performance of Islamic banks in Jordan, and to analyze how the adoption of open innovation strategies affects the sustainability initiatives and practical outcomes of these banks in the Jordanian context. Data were collected through questionnaires conducted on 206 employees in Islamic banks in Jordan. The questionnaire tool assesses perceptions of open innovation practices, sustainability initiatives and performance indicators. SEM analysis is used to examine the direct effects of open innovation on sustainability. The results showed a positive impact of open innovation on the sustainability of Islamic banks in Jordan. Specifically, the adoption of open innovation practices, such as internal, external and coupled innovation, has improved sustainability performance in environmental, social and economic dimensions. This study contributes to understanding the relationship between open innovation and sustainability in the context of Islamic banks in Jordan through empirical analysis. The findings also provide practical insights for banks aiming to enhance sustainability performance and maintain competitiveness through their investments in open innovation in a changing and increasingly connected business environment.
