Between Culture and Technologies: Karmachina
摘要
The present essay focuses on an examination of the practice of videomapping and the subsequent creating of video-environments, ranging from video installations to wall projections, focusing on Karmachina (2013) art studio. It emerges as a collective of contemporary artistic expression, seamlessly intertwining technology, and creativity. Based on the principles of collaboration and experimentation, the team involves skilled professionals in the field of communication and multimedia design, standing at the forefront of a new wave of artistic movements that challenge the boundaries between technology and aesthetic research. Thanks to the interaction between vision systems, media devices, and three-dimensional applications, multi-sensory journeys are created for the user in dialogue with the spaces. For years, Karmachina has been developing narrative concepts for museums and cultural institutions, placing users, instead of technology, at the center of its creations. This research focuses on some specific experiences such as the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum and the Francigena.
