Rethinking Filippo Panseca: Technological Experimentation and Esthetics of Communication Between the Sixties and the Seventies
摘要
The text deals with reading the work of one of the most important representatives of the Italian art scene of the 1960s and 1970s: Filippo Panseca. Panseca’s work is one of the first examples of the use of technologies within the debate of contemporary European art. Since the 1960s, Panseca has begun experimenting with industrial and technological materials that would lead him to anticipate themes for the following contemporary art scene. The themes of biodegradability, ecological and environmental issues, now present in every cultural sphere, have been addressed by the artist through the use of various media such as video, computers, kinetic sculptures, and sound.
