Artistic Creativity in the Image AI Generator and Language as a Tool

This paper attempts to examine how Generative AI transforms a human-technology relationship in terms of human artistic creativity, with special attentions to how body, emotion and language are relocated and restructured in a process of manufacturing visual artistic objects. While it is often said that art is an expression of emotion and emotional reaction, no emotion functions in using Generative AI. While bodily practices and experiences are necessary in a sense of experientially accumulated skills, no such elements are recognized in using Generative AI. While language is used to explain a meaning of art as an expression of emotion and experience, language becomes a tool in manipulating and letting visually aesthetic images created in using Generative AI. These structural reconfigurations in the human-technology relationship needs to be addressed since roles and location of human creativity is shifted.
