Control Circuits, PID, Motion Control

Though this not a book on control systems, we will comment here some basic analog and circuits used in process control, and some power electronics circuits. The automatic control devices may have various physical implementations, like pneumatic or hydraulic controllers, or control realized by mechanical systems. However, the electronic control circuits are perhaps the most important and commonly applied.Some remarks on feedback systems are made, without entering in the huge field of the control theory. The basic proportional/integral/derivative (PID) is discussed, including its analog implementation with opamps. Enhanced modifications of the PID are described. The applications in servomechanisms are explained. The stepper motor control circuits are described.
