Isaac NewtonNewton, Isaac provided the first overarching framework for understanding mechanical processes—a framework based on forces acting between objects. A complementary framework has developed since Newton’s time. It involves a certain kind of intangible stuff that takes on various forms. Any interesting natural process entails some transformation of this stuff from one form to another or the transfer of the stuff from one thing to another. The abstract stuff that I’m talking about is called “energy”.
