The Quantum Revolution
摘要
Up to this point, I've basically avoided quantum physics. It got awkward at times, like when I told you that atoms like to retain 2 or 10 or 18 electronsElectron (Chap. 6 ), or when I said that a neutronNeutron could spontaneously transform into a protonProton, an electron, and an antineutrino (Chap. 10 ). These are just the sorts of puzzling details that physics ought to investigate, and I blew right past them. You really can't give someone a glimpse of quantum physics without provoking more questions, and I wanted to cover some ground before going down the rabbit hole
