Analyzing the Factors Associated with the Severity of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) Using Graph Theory and Matrix Approach Method
摘要
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is found to be increasing day by day. The sedentary lifestyle changes and the food habits with risk factors severely affect the liver and ultimately lead to several complications. In this article, we have mathematically modeled the factors contributing to NASH (nonalcoholic steatohepatitis) and its progress to cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma which have been identified through extensive literature review. The validation has been carried out by experts’ opinions. The observed risk factors and their interactions are modeled as a digraph using Graph Theory Matrix Approach (GTMA) method, and the severity of NAFLD is determined using the Severity Index. The best and worst cases are both evaluated for the proposed model.
