Management of Positive Air Leak Test After Left-Sided Colorectal Anastomosis
摘要
An air leak test following creation of anastomoses to the rectum or anus is quite common in the United States but not universally used elsewhere in the world. The authors assessed a large number of patients with left-sided colorectal anastomosis and demonstrated the value of such established practice. Their data also indicate that repeat anastomosis construction or stoma diversion are preferable to anastomotic suture repair in case of positive air leak test.
