Neuropsychiatric Comorbidities
摘要
This chapter provides an overview of neuropsychiatric conditions that can present comorbidly with epilepsy or share overlapping symptomatology with epilepsy, including neurodevelopmental disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, PNES, and neurocognitive conditions. Conditions are described in terms of their presentation, epidemiology, and considerations for management and treatment in people with epilepsy. Updates to the chapter ensure alignment with DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, discuss an evolving understanding of shared pathophysiological risk and psychosocial influences on disease presentation, and acknowledge the impact of diversity factors on presentation and management.
