The Remedial Directive is subject to frequent changes. Most recently, in 2021, significant realignments were made for lymphological care. There are paradigm shifts in medicine time and again. This regularly also affects the Remedial Directives. The Federal Ministry of Health is planning a significant change: “The GKV-SV (National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds) and the top associations representing the interests of the providers of remedies are given the legal mandate, in agreement with the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV), to agree on the indications where a so-called blank prescription of remedial services by doctors takes place. In this form of care, the doctors continue to make the indication. Still, the specific selection of the remedial service and the determination of the treatment frequency and duration is made by the remedy provider.”
