This chapter attempts to gain an overview of the international situation of lymphological care by asking lymphologists worldwide a series of questions, such as ‘What are the main challenges you face in your practice?’ and ‘What are the most effective treatments you use?’ No explicit epidemiological survey has been initiated, nor is the data fully collected at the national level—apart from the four British nations. The articles reflect the experiences and attitudes of the respective authors and convey a picture of the state of care of our patients. Terence Ryan, a renowned figure in international lymphology, has made a significant contribution with his first piece, ‘On Patient Care in India.’ His work highlights the unique aspects of applied lymphology and applied dermatology, as he has experienced and shaped them. The inclusion of alternative and complementary treatments further enriches this healthcare approach. The international care landscape for lymphological patients is not limited to the therapeutic applications established in the European consensus. It is crucial to recognize the value of integrated medicine, which has proven successful in the treatment of lymphoedema, as a complementary approach.
