During the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, we have seen a dramatic development and continuous improvement in the methodologies used in earth sciences, including volcanology. Most of the methods used are now essential for high-quality research. In this chapter the most important methods currently in use in volcano geomorphology are reviewed with the aim of covering the multiple fields of science that facilitate the study of volcanoes as landforms.
