Enhancing Traffic Flow and Safety: Analysis and Optimization of a Roundabout Intersection Through Virtual Modeling
摘要
This study explores the use of virtual modeling to enhance traffic flow and safety at a roundabout intersection. Roundabouts are increasingly recognized for their ability to reduce collision severity and improve traffic efficiency. Leveraging simulation tools such as AnyLogic, we analyze various traffic scenarios and design configurations to optimize roundabout performance. Our findings demonstrate significant improvements in traffic capacity and safety, highlighting the value of virtual modeling in traffic engineering. The study provides evidence-based recommendations for roundabout design, contributing to the development of safer and more efficient road networks.
